We are hiring for a Human Resources Information Systems Specialist to enhance our growing corporate staff in Chicago on a hybrid, full-time capacity. This is a highly visible role that reports directly to the HRIS Manager and provides the opportunity to collaborate closely with our Shared Services team and field teams across multiple lines of business.

Summary:

Responsible for updating and maintaining the Human Resources Information system (HRIS) and other systems supported by the HRIS and Payroll teams; ensures data integrity; assists with HRIS application maintenance; participates in the functional testing for special projects; provides reports and general information requiring a thorough understanding of the organizational structure and policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures accurate and timely processing of employee personnel information into the HRIS.
  • Provides support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving HRIS problems, unexpected results or process flaws.
  • Stay up-to-date on HRIS functionality and seek to continue to upgrade processes to increase accuracy, understanding, and limit manual efforts.
  • Plan and manage end-to-end HRIS team implementations, defining project scope, timelines, and downstream impacts.
  • Understand the technological landscape of the business and how the HRIS connects and impacts.
  • Maintain and manage integrations that connect to the HRIS and timekeeping system. Work with the IT department to update and test and changes or new integrations.
  • Effectively communicates with Back Office Departments to ensure correct and timely entry of all data; runs and reviews various audit reports for accuracy; and work with the teams to complete data corrections when necessary.
  • Supports reporting needs for internal and external customers.
  • Provides backup support for the HRIS Manager
  • Answers customer inquiries within designated time frames and perform any required troubleshooting for issue resolution.
  • Proactively reviews and recommends improvements to current processes and projects.
  • Promotes technology to increase productivity, decrease rework and eliminate manual effort.
  • Assists with special projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Education

  • 2-3 years of HRIS experience, payroll experience, or general human resources administration and personal computer operation; other comparable experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience with UKG Workforce Ready (Payroll/HR/Time system), preferred
  • Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism, autonomy and maturity while working with customers across various levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for Human Resources and general customer service for employees and customers.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize work and accurately complete multiple tasks under minimal supervision and rigid time constraints.
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to work independently or within a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and provide conclusions or approaches to the job.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
  • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality.
