GCP Cloud Engineer

Contract: 9+ Months (Potential to convert to FTE)

Hybrid: 3 days a week (Downtown Chicago or Chicago Suburbs)

W2 ONLY (NO C2C)

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud-based systems using GCP services (e.g., Vertex
  
  AI, Big Query, Private Google Access).
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Jenkins.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines.
• Script automation tasks using Python or Bash.
• Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure using Datadog and Splunk.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business and security requirements.
• Support AI and machine learning initiatives.
• Implement and maintain security guardrails and compliance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform services.
• Strong problem-solving and technical aptitude.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python or Bash).
• Familiarity with Git Hub for version control.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience with monitoring/logging tools like Datadog and Splunk.
• Ability to query and analyze logs in Splunk.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience enabling security guardrails in cloud environments.
• Exposure to AI/ML capabilities within GCP.
• GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Data Engineer).
• Familiarity with Palo Alto network security solutions.
• Knowledge of Private Google Access (PGA) and its implementation.

Rate: $85-$100/hr W2
