Overall PurposeThis technical managerial role reports to the Director of Engineering Services and is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of the analytics platform cloud infrastructure, including transitioning some workloads from on-premises to the public cloud.
Essential Functions Leadership & Strategy- Leads a team in the architecture and engineering of a particular AWS data platform.
- Contributes to the vision, strategy, organization, and leadership of the cloud engineering function.
- Defines and enforces cloud engineering best practices, standards, and architectural guidelines.
- Works with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into cloud infrastructure designs.
- Provides technical expertise and guidance to deliver resilient, scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions.
- Provides effective leadership to develop highly engaged, high-performance teams.
- Manages complex, high-visibility end-to-end projects through design, testing, implementation, and performance monitoring.
- Collaborates with architects and internal teams to migrate microservices from on-premises to AWS.
- Manages service deployments with strong knowledge of CI/CD systems and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Partners with security, network, and software delivery teams to continuously improve the platform.
- Keeps senior management informed of department progress, problems, and solutions.
- Supports the company’s commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
- Minimum eight (8) years of progressive engineering/architecture experience, with at least 3 years in public cloud infrastructure
- Proven track record in leading one or more engineering teams and building public cloud infrastructure; AWS experience highly preferred
- At least 3 years of hands-on engineering management experience, including Agile practices and experience as both product owner and Scrum Master
- Experience delivering secure, reliable technology solutions including disaster recovery, storage area networks, and highly available server/network architectures
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or Cloud Formation)
- Familiarity with security practices in public cloud environments (encryption, tokenization, key management)
- Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and tools (CI/CD, version control, configuration management, monitoring, alerts)
- Ability to manage technical debt and security vulnerabilities
- Strong collaboration skills in cross-functional groups and results-oriented
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, multi-priority environment
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadline-driven projects
- Background and drug screening required
- Additional related education and/or experience
- Ability to provide production support in an on-prem environment
- Experience with data processing tools such as ETL and data cataloging
- Experience participating in external audits (e.g., OCC, PCI, SOC2, FISMA) is highly desirable
