Overview
Our client is looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their team. The Senior Dev Ops Engineer will partner with IT Delivery Teams to ensure code, services and products move from development through rollout and into production. The role involves scripting and coding with emphasis on automation and continuous integration so that deployments can be broken down and distributed across multiple development and test teams for the implementation of web-based application development projects.
Responsibilities- Hands-on contributor responsible for building, operating, and improving Dev Sec Ops platforms and pipelines.
- Implement automation, enforce security and quality controls, and ensure reliable day-to-day operation of CI/CD, cloud infrastructure, and container platforms.
- Partner with development and security teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions.
- Work with IT Delivery teams and stakeholders to design deployment, provisioning, and integration workflows; ensure environment stability and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop reusable Infrastructure as Code; integrate IaC into CI/CD pipelines with automated validation, drift detection, and policy enforcement across AWS and Azure.
- Improve observability, resilience, and Dev Sec Ops adoption by implementing monitoring, logging, dashboards, incident response, root-cause analysis, and documentation to raise maturity across development and QA teams.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience (Computer Science or related field preferred).
- 5+ years of software engineering and Dev Ops experience; 5+ years in an SCRM/Agile software development environment.
- Experience deploying and administering CI tools such as Azure Dev Ops and Git Hub Enterprise.
- Experience with infrastructure tools such as Terraform and Docker; cloud experience with Azure and AWS.
- Experience with automated testing solutions for unit, integration, and system testing.
- Strong Kubernetes/EKS experience; container image governance, runtime security, and scaling.
- Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Power Shell, Python).
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Solar Winds, Splunk).
- Strong knowledge of secure SDLC and Dev Sec Ops patterns for code quality, dependency hygiene, and vulnerability management.
- Excellent communication and collaboration across Dev, Sec, and Ops teams; ability to explain cloud architecture to leadership.
- CI/CD:
Azure Dev Ops, YAML pipelines, Git;
Code Quality & Security tooling:
Sonar Qube, Checkmarx SAST/SCA, security gates. - Containers:
Docker, Kubernetes (EKS); image scanning and deployment. - IaC:
Terraform, reusable modules, pipeline integration. - Observability:
Monitoring, logging, alerting using enterprise tools.
Salary/Rate: $90/hour (depends on experience). This is a contract position with 40 hours/week. Upon conversion, salary would be $125,000 - $165,000 (depends on experience).
