Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced API Testing Expert with strong skills in Java and Selenium, specifically within the financial services domain. This is a long-term contract opportunity based in Chicago IL, requiring 5 days onsite per week and a Face-to-Face interview.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in automated API testing and prior experience working in banking, financial services, or capital markets environments.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement robust automated testing frameworks for RESTful APIs.
- Develop and execute functional, integration, and regression tests using Java and Selenium.
- Validate API responses for accuracy, performance, and reliability, especially for financial data and transaction processing.
- Utilize tools like Postman, Rest Assured, and TestNG/JUnit for testing and reporting.
- Collaborate with QA, development, and business teams to understand functional requirements and financial workflows.
- Identify defects, document test results, and assist with triaging issues in financial applications.
- Work within Agile/Scrum teams in a high-regulation environment with emphasis on accuracy and compliance.
Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of hands‑on experience in Software QA with a strong focus on API testing.
- Expertise in Java and Selenium Web Driver.
- Strong experience with Rest Assured, Postman, or similar API testing tools.
- Proficient in testing financial applications, such as payment systems, trading platforms, or banking APIs.
- Solid understanding of HTTP, JSON/XML, and RESTful services.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or Git Lab CI.
- Experience working in regulated environments and understanding of compliance and audit requirements in financial systems.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Must be willing to work onsite 5 days a week in St. Louis, MO.
- Must be available for a Face-to-Face interview.
