The Technical Product Manager will help us drive retention and accelerate the expansion and adoption of our GUI Trading Platform, a multi-process application written in web technologies interacting with Python and C++ microservices, as well as databases. The person in this role should have a technical or financial background and the ability to clearly communicate with stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of global market structure and electronic trading systems or demonstrate an aptitude to learn.

Familiarity with research and data analysis is a requirement.

Job Functions:
  • Accountable for the business analysis and stakeholder engagement for a family of trading GUI software products
  • Collaborate with engineering though activities such as:
    • Cultivate a prioritized backlog
    • Partner with engineering management on technical roadmap
    • Work with dev team to establish timelines/ metrics
    • Assist with strategy for managing releases including process for best practices
    • Triage: investigate, analyze, and categorize incident reports; identify root causes and recommend workarounds
  • Act as the voice of stakeholders in the development process via activities such as:
    • Build usage analytics strategy and advise implementation; use to inform development decisions
    • Function as a second-level support specialist
    • Gather user feedback, turn insights into actions
  • Act as a liaison across company, working with stakeholders to:
    • Evangelize features, build and run demos
    • Improve external facing documentation and usage guides
    • Dotted line report to CPO for broader company programs and understanding of department goals / initiatives
  • Leverage a strategic mindset to grow the user base while retaining current engagement:
    • Review emerging technologies and build advanced use cases to move DRW/team's tech stack forward.
    • Identify use cases for AI where applicable across domains, including triage, analytics, observability, and application support
Key objectives critical to success in this role:
  • Must have a detail-oriented disposition and clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have experience writing business and functional requirements documents, user acceptance test plans, use cases, UI mockups, user stories, and release notes
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Possesses a foundational understanding of web and computing concepts
  • Familiarity with microservice/distributed software architectures
  • Comfortable using the command line, SSH
  • Enthusiasm, curiosity, and an ability to work and deliver results independently
Preferred Experience:
  • 7+ Technical Product Management (or comparable) experience
  • Knowledge of electronic trading within futures, equities, options, rates, etc.
  • Experience working directly in the software development process
  • A working understanding of the technologies used in web software development
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products; experience with Jira
  • Familiarity with using and customizing analytics products:
    Splunk (queries/dashboards), Grafana

The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $200,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
