SummaryWealthspire is seeking a highly skilled Azure Infrastructure Architect to design, build, and evolve the firm’s Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring a secure, resilient, and scalable cloud foundation that supports enterprise applications, data platforms, end‑user services, and ongoing growth initiatives—including carve‑outs and future M&A activity. The Azure Infrastructure Architect will serve as a hands‑on technical leader, partnering closely with Infrastructure & IT Operations, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and Application teams to deliver modern, automated, and highly available cloud infrastructure aligned with Wealthspire’s Microsoft‑first strategy.
Key Responsibilities Azure Architecture & Engineering- Design, implement, and maintain Azure infrastructure architecture including subscriptions, networking, compute, storage, and identity integrations supporting enterprise workloads
- Implement and manage Azure Virtual Networks, VPN/Express Route, firewalls, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity
- Design secure, scalable Azure landing zones aligned to governance, compliance, and operational standards
- Architect resilient Azure compute platforms (VMs, scale sets, PaaS services where applicable)
- Define and enforce Azure governance using policies, blueprints, tagging, and RBAC
- Ensure high availability, scalability, availability, performance, backup, and disaster recovery across Azure workloads
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response using Azure‑native and third‑party tools
- Drive automation using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Power Shell, and CI/CD pipelines
- Partner with IT Operations to mature change, configuration, and lifecycle management
- Serve as a senior technical escalation point for complex Azure infrastructure issues
- Participate in day‑to‑day technology operations
- Lead and execute Azure infrastructure separation and integration activities for carve‑outs, tenant separations, acquisitions, and divestitures
- Develop repeatable Azure playbooks for subscription design, identity integration, and workload migration
- Ensure minimal disruption, strong security posture, and audit readiness during transitional events
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Compliance teams on identity, network security, encryption, logging, and threat protection
- Support regulatory and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, SEC, NYDFS)
- Enforce secure‑by‑design infrastructure standards and continuous compliance
- Participate in vendor relationships and work with Microsoft, CSPs, MSPs, and technology vendors to optimize Azure usage and cost
- Evaluate new Azure services and roadmap features for business applicability
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and operations
- 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with deep focus on Microsoft Azure
- Proven experience architecting and operating enterprise‑scale Azure environments
- Strong hands‑on expertise with Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity integration
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation frameworks
- Exposure to carve‑outs, integrations, or M&A activity strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of security, identity, and compliance in regulated environments
- Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands‑on technical execution
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus
- Ability to travel up to 20% (International & Domestic)
