IT Consultant, IT Business Analyst, Cybersecurity, Systems Analyst
Job Summary
Support the design, planning, and implementation of information technology (IT) audit programs informed by documented risk assessments. Assist in planning IT assignments and provide IT guidance and support applicable to technology across all audits. Conduct comprehensive reviews of IT systems and processes to identify potential risks and control weaknesses. Document findings, prepare audit reports, and support the communication of results to County bureau/department heads and senior leadership.
Monitor recommendations to ensure successful implementation of corrective actions. Escalate any issues potentially impacting the quality or completion of assignments. Collaborate with IT professionals and stakeholders to support the implementation of IT audits and cybersecurity best practices across the County. Help ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local regulations and standards (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ISO, etc.). Stay updated on new technologies and industry standards to enhance audit procedures.
Identify and support the application of Computer Assisted Audit Techniques (CAAT) for all audits.
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or a directly related field
- Two (2) years as an IT Auditor or directly related experience
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- This position is considered a safety-sensitive position. Candidates who are selected to fill safety-sensitive positions must pass a required drug test as part of the pre-employment background check process
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and experience of applying internal audit standards, IT risk assessment and governance frameworks, and cybersecurity standards (NIST, COBIT, ISO, and COSO)
- Knowledge and experience applying GAO Yellow Book and IIA Redbook standards
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations relating to IT operations, records, and auditing
- Skill in organizing information in a logical manner to support audit results
- Ability to balance multiple competing projects with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with IT and non-IT staff while maintaining professional skepticism and confidentiality
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Sedentary work, up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; predominantly sedentary with possible brief periods of walking or standing.
