IT Quality Control Test Architect

The IT Quality Control Test Architect is responsible for developing the testing strategy and master test plan to support testing objectives, defining and driving a modern, end-to-end, data-informed quality engineering strategy for complex, enterprise healthcare programs at Elevance Health. This role combines deep testing expertise with strong analytical skills to interpret trends, outcomes, metrics, and feedback, and dynamically adapt testing strategies for speed, risk, and quality.

The Test Architect provides technical and strategic leadership across testing, automation, data, and environments, while responsibly applying AI-enabled capabilities to improve quality, predictability, and delivery outcomes.

Location

This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within commuting distance from an office. How

You Will Make an Impact
  • Manages the strategic and tactical testing relationship with program stakeholders (IT and business).
  • Develops the overall testing strategy and master test plan for the program; sets the direction and tone for quality delivery.
  • Owns/ drives/ coordinates testing across multiple testing phases, including SIT, UAT, and End-to-End.
  • Provides requirements and guidance for all test data and test environment needs; leads and coordinates all testing within the program.
  • Ensures that test automation is considered and utilized where appropriate.
  • Collects testing metrics and reports status to program and Quality Assurance Leadership.
  • Provides leadership and consultation to program and application development groups for all testing related matters.
  • May participate in the transition of software and systems into production.
  • Accountable for Test Data Management, collection of requirements, evaluation of available data in repositories, identification of gaps, and alignment with Configuration Management and Release Management on data needs, owning test data provisioning tasks.
  • Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate testing trends, quality outcomes, defect patterns, production feedback, and delivery metrics.
  • Continuously adapts test strategy and coverage based on data, risk signals, and program feedback to improve agility and effectiveness.
  • Partners with Product, Architecture, Dev Ops, and Release Management to embed quality early and continuously.
  • Adapts and applies AI / GenAI capabilities to improve test design, coverage, prioritization, maintenance, defect analysis, and quality insights.
  • Evaluates AI-enabled testing tools with attention to governance, explainability, security, and regulatory compliance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years testing and product quality experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Quality certification such as CSTE, CSQA, CMST, CSQE required.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Agile / SAFe delivery models and CI/CD pipelines.
  • PMP certification or strong program delivery background.
