Information Technology Service Associate – Part‑Time

Malcolm X College is seeking a part‑time IT Services Associate for the Information Technology Department. The basic function of this position is to support the computer hardware and software used by students, administrators, faculty, and staff in a variety of academic settings and to promote student success.

• Provide computer hardware and software technical support in person and remotely.
• Maintain, install, and test software applications on computer hardware throughout the college.
• Submit help desk tickets to assist users with technology‑related issues.
• Protect physical technology assets through equipment refresh, maintenance, configuration, troubleshooting, and asset inventory management.
• Manage, track, and protect equipment designated for use by students, administrators, faculty, and staff.
• Facilitate use of equipment for internal and external events.
• Assemble and disassemble equipment on site before and after classes.
• Provide limited training to audio‑visual/multi‑media equipment users.
• Adhere to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including after‑hours, emergency, holiday, or on‑call schedule.

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Processing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a college or comparable academic setting.
• Minimum of two years of related work experience.
• Knowledge and experience supporting both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
• Sound verbal and written communication skills.
• Great team player and self‑starter.

$17.48 – $24.59 per hour, determined by the collective bargaining agreement and the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
