Job OverviewRL Canning is seeking a hands‑on Project Manager to lead the implementation and delivery of Microsoft Fabric for a large‑scale, global data integration initiative. The ideal candidate combines strong project management expertise with a working knowledge of modern data platforms, enabling them to actively guide implementation decisions, remove technical roadblocks, and ensure successful deployment. Experience in regulated environments such as legal or financial services is highly preferred.
This position requires a leader who can bridge business and technical teams, ensuring that Microsoft Fabric is implemented effectively, adopted across the organization, and aligned with the enterprise data strategy.

- Lead the end‑to‑end implementation of Microsoft Fabric, including planning, configuration, deployment, and post‑go‑live stabilization
- Work closely with data engineers and architects to translate requirements into technical implementation plans
- Act as the primary driver of execution, ensuring deliverables are completed and solutions are fully operational
- Coordinate across global stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and third‑party vendors
- Oversee data integration workflows, pipelines, and platform setup within Microsoft Fabric
- Identify and remove implementation roadblocks, proactively addressing technical and operational risks
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and compliance standards, particularly within legal or financial environments
- Manage vendors and system integrators, holding them accountable for delivery milestones and quality
- Track testing phases (UAT, system validation) and ensure successful production deployment
- Work with operational change management to drive adoption, including training, documentation, and transition to support/operation teams
- Provide executive‑level reporting, including progress, status of risks and issues, and implementation progress
- Perform other tasks as necessary to support and achieve business objectives
- 8+ years of project management experience, with a strong focus on data platform or data integration implementations
- Proven track record of leading full lifecycle implementations (not just oversight) of enterprise data solutions
- Must have hands‑on experience implementing Microsoft Fabric or similar modern cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks), with working knowledge of cloud data ecosystems
- Solid understanding of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and analytics platforms
- Experience leading global rollouts and platform adoption initiatives while managing large, complex implementations involving multiple stakeholders and vendors
- Ability to engage in technical discussions with engineers and architects and guide implementation decisions
