The Highlights:
Reporting to the Assistant VP, Digital Experience & Analysis (DXA), the Web Content Manager supports and executes university-wide web content strategy, maintenance and migration. The Web Content Manager works on enterprise-wide site migration projects, information architecture and on-going sites updates, ensuring content is organized in a manner consistent with university standards and best practices. Working in a customer relationship management and technical capacity, she/he works in a consultative role with website administrators in colleges, departments and administrative divisions across the university, providing assistance with content strategy, information architecture, SEO, site analytics, web best practices and content management (CMS) training and use.
The Web Content Manager works closely with the UI/UX Interactive Designer and Senior Web Developer on the DXA team to enhance the CMS by recommending modifications and testing new features.
The Web Content Manager serves in an advisory and consulting role on adherence to the DePaul brand and best practices for the web.
What You'll Do:
* Works in a customer relationship management and technical capacity for university CMS users to understand customer content needs, improve user experience, and resolve problems, requests, questions and enhancements. Prioritizes, executes and closes support tickets as necessary. Understands how customer/user issues may impact other functions and shares information appropriately. Consults with web administrators, makes decisions and offers suggestions on best practices, content strategy, information architecture and page layouts to improve user experience.
Establishes and communicates expectations regarding quality and service; identifies repeated customer concerns or roadblocks, addresses them in a timely manner and seeks new ways to improve web/online experience for web administrators and users.
* Works on website migration projects, site planning and creation and on-going site updates and enhancements. This includes pre-assessment, site-map creation and information architecture and build-out, and migrating content while ensuring information is organized in a manner consistent with all guidelines and university standards.
* Manages content on a variety of web properties, including depaul.edu, college and administrative unit sites, advertising landing pages, and undergraduate and graduate recruitment vehicles. Reviews, evaluates and edits existing/new web content; drafts microcopy; provides UX, content strategy and usability expertise; analyzes sites with data from Google Analytics; conducts needs analysis; implements Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tactics; assists with testing new solutions and makes suggestions for improvements.
* Develops, promotes and executes outreach efforts to create awareness of systems management and web content strategy best practices. Creates and maintains documentation for CMS support. Assists with training and support of web administrators across the university.
* Contributes to project management methodology by understanding the flow of work tasks being completed through the entire SDLC (Software delivery life cycle) and assisting in ensuring that every step is taken to create a quality product output.
* Updates our flagship website with required changings, communicating changes and validating approvals before publishing to the public website. Educating, guiding and advising users how to optimize their efforts on our CMS is greatly desired.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in English, marketing/communications or journalism.
* Experience with any CMS is preferred, with Sitecore experience considered a strong plus.
* 3-5 years experience of project management with an emphasis on communication, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Excellent written, verbal and editorial skills.
