The Workday Technical Lead will contribute to the delivery and ongoing support of Workday solutions for our clients, serving as a technical subject matter expert with a strong focus on integrations.
This role provides hands-on leadership in designing, building, and optimizing complex Workday integrations, including deep expertise in Workday Studio, while applying best practices across the Workday ecosystem. The Technical Lead will partner closely with functional and delivery teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high-quality delivery.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions for Workday integrations, with a focus on Workday Studio.
- Design, build, and optimize complex Workday integrations (e.g., EIBs, Core Connectors, APIs) and ensure scalable, high-quality delivery.
- Provide hands-on leadership and act as a technical subject matter expert across Workday modules and integration development.
- Collaborate with functional and delivery teams to troubleshoot complex issues and support ongoing integration operations.
- Contribute to technical design, unit testing, system testing, and issue resolution in partnership with business stakeholders and client teams.
- Support integrations and data flows across core Workday modules such as HCM and Financials; exposure to Student is a plus.
- Required minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in Workday technical roles with hands-on ownership of integrations and technical design across Workday modules.
- Strong expertise in Workday Studio and integration development, including EIBs, Core Connectors, and APIs.
- Experience analyzing requirements, producing technical specifications, conducting testing, troubleshooting, and partnering with functional teams.
- Ability to translate functional requirements into scalable technical solutions using delivered and custom Workday tools.
- Experience supporting integrations in core Workday modules (HCM, Financials); exposure to Student is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
- No travel required unless requested by the client.
- Preferred:
Active Workday Certification (Integrations strongly preferred; HCM, Financials, or Student certifications are a plus). - Experience supporting Workday in AMS/Managed Services environments, including Tier 3 incident management and ongoing client support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Studio; ability to design, maintain, and troubleshoot complex integrations.
- Experience with BIRT or reporting tools is a plus.
- Experience supporting medium to large-scale Workday implementations or post-production environments across multiple functional areas.
- Experience with automation, inbound/outbound integrations, and end-to-end data flows within Workday.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, including data analysis, reconciliation, and supporting testing or data validation activities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring junior consultants, reviewing deliverables, delegating work, and contributing to team development.
- Estimated base salary range: $135,000 - $165,000 (USD). The range represents a good faith estimate of the pay for this job at the time of posting; actual salary varies based on skills, experience, and other factors.
- Eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program; total estimated compensation range including incentives: $162,000 - $198,000 (USD).
