Data Enablement Engineer

Our client is building a Lakehouse Enablement function and are looking for engineers who thrive at the intersection of big-data platforms, production engineering, and user enablement.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted technical partner to data engineers, analysts, and platform users helping them move from experimentation to reliable, scalable, production-grade Spark workloads.

• Serve as a resident Lakehouse enablement specialist, providing L2/L3 platform support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across Spark-based pipelines and analytics workloads.
• Design and optimize Spark jobs, compute configurations, and execution patterns.
• Convert exploratory Databricks notebooks into repeatable, CI/CD-driven production jobs.
• Translate user and business requirements into robust, scalable production solutions.
• Lead hands-on enablement sessions, workshops, and guided implementations.
• Partner closely with data engineering, analytics, and platform teams to drive adoption and best practices.

• Deep hands-on experience with Apache Spark on managed platforms (Databricks preferred).
• Strong SQL and data warehousing expertise.
• Proven experience product ionising notebooks (CI/CD, orchestration, testing, monitoring).
• Experience supporting mission-critical production data workloads.
• A customer-facing, enablement-oriented mindset you enjoy teaching, advising, and unblocking others.
• Clear communicator who can explain complex technical concepts simply.

• Background in platform enablement, solutions engineering, or senior data engineering.
• Experience running technical workshops or onboarding sessions.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and cost/performance optimization.
