Total Compensation: $700k Plus (split between base and bonuses)
A leading high-frequency trading firm is seeking an SRE Tech Lead to design, build, and operate the infrastructure that powers its world-class trading environment. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of experience with Python and Go, strong Linux expertise, and a background from Big Tech or a similarly demanding engineering environment.
The SRE Tech Lead will lead by example, shaping the reliability strategy for core production systems while remaining hands-on across architecture, incident response, automation, and platform engineering. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems in a low-latency, performance-critical trading setting.
Key Responsibilities- Lead SRE efforts across critical infrastructure platforms, ensuring high availability, low latency, and operational resilience.
- Design and maintain streaming systems architecture, including message/streaming queues
- Own observability, alerting, and incident management practices, and continuously improve mean time to detect and recover from incidents.
- Design and implement automation for deployments, reliability controls, and operational workflows using Python and Go.
- Lead and mentor
- 5+ years of experience with Python and Go
- Experience with Linux
- Knowledge of streaming systems architecture and design
- Experience with message/streaming queues
- Working knowledge of Rust, C/C++
- Experience with big data / columnar-style data stores and time series databases.
- Experience working with version control and CI/CD systems.
- Experience with app deployment management and lifecycle
- Background from Big Tech, hyperscale, or similarly demanding engineering environments.
- Experience supporting high transaction environment systems.
- Familiarity with service mesh, policy-as-code, or secure platform operations.
- Exposure to high-availability design, performance analysis, and production incident leadership.
