Position: Quality Assurance Analyst II (Hybrid)

Quality Assurance Analyst II (Hybrid) – Chicago, IL

This hybrid position reports into the Chicago office and requires attendance 3 days a week. The role performs structured and comprehensive end‑to‑end testing of internal and external software, including developing test requirements, strategies, plans, cases, and checklists. The analyst executes system test plans, oversees user acceptance testing, documents, reports, and follows up on defects, and maintains test script inventory for critical software and applications.

Responsibilities

Discovery

  • Write and maintain test strategies, procedures, cases, and traceability documents.
  • Enter test asset information into appropriate repositories.
  • Use automated testing tools to record reusable test scripts from documentation.
  • Perform manual structured testing as needed.

Test Execution

  • Evaluate recorded script results and enter defects into defect management tool.
  • Develop and execute regression tests.
  • Ensure defects are resolved and re‑tested before certification at various testing phases.
  • Create testing and progress reports for project management.
  • Lead full UAT and regression testing for each release of critical software and application projects, reporting defects to developers promptly.

QA Documentation

  • Ensure appropriate disaster‑recovery measures are taken.
  • Participate in requirements and test case review sessions.
  • Ensure QA policies, procedures, and standards are followed.
  • Work with Senior Quality Analyst to identify test case candidates for automation.
  • Contribute to maintaining a library of documentation around results from each test.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain central test case and defect management repositories and related processes.
  • Establish liaison relationships with AMA and outsourced consulting teams to ensure adherence to AMA standards.
  • Provide feedback on assessment of testing tools and recommend testing processes and tools.

May include other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements
  • BS or BA degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience and demonstrated understanding of structured software‑testing methodology.
  • Knowledge and/or prior experience with software development life cycle approaches, including waterfall and agile methods.
  • Understanding of the programming model in web‑based software and applications, and security awareness.
  • Ability to organize business and system requirements into testable cases and system testing cycles.
  • Ability to plan and execute system testing, assist in UAT and performance/load testing, and document results in standard formats.
  • Experience with software testing tools (test case management, automated testing, browser/device testing, defect management). Strong desire to continuously improve QA processes.
  • Demonstrated responsibilities in improving software products through quality management.
  • Ability to work long hours, travel, attend educational events, and meet with vendors and high‑level business leaders.
  • Solid understanding of evolving technology trends and assessing internal applicability.
  • Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work well with people having varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Time management and problem‑solving skills.

    This role is an exempt position. Salary range: $86,239 – $112,813. Employees are eligible to participate in incentive plans and benefits. (Full benefits details available upon request.)
