Summary

The Technology Scout serves as an architect of external innovation, identifying breakthrough technologies and new business opportunities through global scouting across academia, startups, and adjacent industries. • Explore nontraditional markets where the company’s science, engineering, or manufacturing capabilities could enable game-changing applications, creating white-space strategy proposals.
  • Provide senior leaders with forward-looking technology intelligence including scenario planning, technology risk assessments, and maps of disruptive forces shaping the next decade.
  • Represent the company as a high-profile technical ambassador at global events, industry consortia, scientific conferences, innovation councils, and customer or supplier executive meetings.
  • Shape the company’s long-term IP strategy through proactive identification of whitespace, emerging threats, and high-value patents necessary to secure future positions.
  • Lead the early conceptualization of externally derived projects, helping R&D teams integrate new technologies and navigate technical, supply chain, and regulatory scaling challenges.
  • Build and sustain senior-level relationships with key innovation stakeholders, including CEOs, CTOs, principal investigators, and venture investors, cultivating long-term collaborative pathways.
  • Produce visionary internal reports, landscape analyses, and opportunity forecasts that influence capital allocation, capability-building strategy, and company-level technology investments.
  • Serve as an internal catalyst for strategic thinking, helping leaders recognize external signals and act before competitors in fast-moving technology spaces.
