This position is based out of our Chicago Office.
The Sr. Sales Engineer is responsible for identifying new client revenue opportunities, managing the sales strategy, securing the correct support infrastructure to assist the sale, and delivering the required results. They act as solution consultants, speaking to the security landscape, architectural models, and current state to future state solutions, and presenting to senior members of client teams. They must have depth of knowledge and experience in core domains:
Security Consulting Services, Managed Security Services, Incident Response and/or Threat Detection. The role includes workshop delivery, pre‑sales and consulting engagements, and leading solution design and deployment projects.

- Deep experience designing and deploying technology and solutions across at least two core domains:
Network Security, Cloud Security, Endpoint Security, Security Consulting, Incident Response, Threat Detection, Managed Security solutions - Understanding of inter‑relationships among major components in these domains
- Solid understanding and experience with structured solution design methodology
- Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, provide product demonstrations in person and virtually, and work with prospects at technical and business levels to demonstrate how Level Blue’s security solutions meet their needs
- Experience with security products and technologies commonly used in enterprise networks, including EDR, SIEM, WAF, Firewall, IDS/IPS, Windows, Linux, etc
- Demonstrable customer‑centric selling skills with proven track record of driving revenue
- Act as technical resource at trade shows and conferences
- Work independently and as a vital member of the sales team
- Collaborate with the sales team to strategize sales approaches and develop business
- Ensure successful on‑site and remote product evaluations (POCs) and post‑sale installations when necessary
- 7+ years of experience in a consultative or pre‑sales capacity across at least two of the following core domains:
Network Security, Endpoint Security, Cloud Security, Security Consulting, Incident Response, SIEM, Threat Detection and Managed Security solutions - Strong leadership skills with ability to prioritize, set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders and team members
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including interacting with senior executives
- Technical understanding of incident response, computer forensics, network, endpoint and application security
- Ability to interact and communicate with C‑level personnel, technical leaders and administrators
- Exceptional communication and listening skills for building rapport and articulating complex topics clearly
- Readiness to travel ~35% annually

Fluent
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent educational or industry experience
- Previous technical enablement or training experience
- Hands‑on experience with intrusion detection systems, security information event management solutions, packet analysis tools and operating system analysis
