This role is designed for an experienced discovery professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving real problems on active matters. As part of a forward‑looking legal innovation team, you will help shape and execute discovery strategies that deliver defensible, efficient outcomes across high‑stakes litigation, investigations, and regulatory matters.

Your ImpactReporting to senior Legal Practice Technology leadership, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for guiding a multidisciplinary team that includes discovery advisors, project managers, and data science specialists. The team focuses on designing and executing workflows that support the thoughtful preservation, collection, processing, analysis, and production of client data across a wide range of complex matters.
This role is both practice‑embedded and leadership‑focused
, with more than half of the time dedicated to direct engagement on active matters. You will also play a meaningful role in shaping internal standards, evaluating emerging technologies, and strengthening the firm’s overall discovery capabilities.
- Partner with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to design discovery approaches that align with matter objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead early matter intake discussions and guide discovery scoping, including collaboration with client legal, compliance, and IT stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted, client‑facing discovery advisor capable of proposing and executing creative, defensible solutions grounded in extensive experience.
- Oversee and actively participate in data preservation, collection, and processing activities, particularly for complex and modern data sources.
- Provide subject‑matter leadership on preservation and collection strategies across cloud‑based and enterprise collaboration platforms.
- Guide handling of complex and non‑traditional data types, ensuring defensibility, consistency, and quality throughout processing workflows.
- Act as a contributing expert within the data processing function, defining and applying best practices across matters.
- Lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and consistent quality across engagements.
- Promote adoption of standard operating procedures and shared workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Support professional growth and technical development within the team through coaching and engagement.
- Partner with legal technology leadership and innovation teams to evaluate emerging tools, platforms, and methodologies.
- Help raise awareness of the team’s capabilities across the firm and contribute to initiatives that enhance service delivery.
- Support continuous improvement efforts focused on process refinement, advanced data handling, and discovery modernization.
- 15+ years of experience delivering consultative eDiscovery services within a law firm, advisory organization, legal service provider, or in‑house legal team.
- Extensive experience engaging directly with clients and legal teams on complex discovery matters.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage ambiguity, and drive consensus across diverse stakeholders.
- Deep knowledge of end‑to‑end discovery workflows, including preservation, collection, processing, analytics, and production.
- Strong familiarity with leading eDiscovery platforms and analytics technologies.
- Hands‑on expertise managing cloud‑based and collaboration‑platform data, including understanding platform‑specific collection methods and metadata considerations.
- Working knowledge of forensic collection practices, including mobile device and endpoint data preservation.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with attorneys, clients, and leadership.
- Strong judgment, organizational ability, and follow‑through, with comfort independently driving initiatives forward.
- Collaborative leadership style focused on quality, accountability, and shared outcomes.
- Background supporting legal, compliance, or IT teams with digital evidence collection and forensic analysis.
- Advanced experience processing and normalizing non‑traditional data formats, including structured exports from modern collaboration tools.
- Quantitative or scripting experience, including familiarity with Python, SQL, or similar tools used in discovery analytics.
