Job Summary

The Web and Digital Marketing Specialist will oversee the Crown Family School’s digital presence across web, social, and multimedia platforms. The role supports enrollment, fundraising, and brand awareness by developing and executing integrated digital strategies, maintaining web content, managing social media, producing multimedia content, analyzing metrics, and ensuring accessibility and consistency across all channels.

Responsibilities
  • Produce digital content that meets accessibility standards.
  • Plan, shoot, edit, and brand video and photography projects.
  • Develop and collaborate on content for students, alumni, community partners, and other audiences.
  • Compile and analyze digital metrics to evaluate performance and optimize engagement.
  • Maintain visual and voice consistency across all digital platforms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to design campaigns that drive inbound traffic and engagement.
  • Recommend and implement a comprehensive social media strategy.
  • Manage daily content calendars and oversee flagship channels (Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, You Tube).
  • Create integrated content strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Advise faculty, staff, and students on web content practices and improve user experience.
  • Update key website pages for accuracy and relevance.
  • Use SEO tools to enhance site visibility and performance.
  • Execute CMS workflows and provide technical expertise for site functionality.
  • Track performance goals and KPIs across digital platforms.
  • Monitor and report on SEO, site health, and conversion effectiveness.
  • Maintain a marketing and communications project calendar.
  • Recommend optimizations for campaigns, accessibility, and audience engagement.
  • Produce informational content to keep the public updated on programs and achievements.
  • Handle a range of digital and social media assets.
  • Perform related duties as needed.
Education & Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree in marketing, digital communications, design, UX, public relations, data analytics, or related field.
  • Experience:

    5+ years in digital marketing, web management, or multimedia communications, preferably in higher education or nonprofit settings.
  • Example: 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a complex organization.
  • Experience managing content in a CMS (preferably Drupal).
  • Hands‑on experience with Instagram, Facebook, Linked In, You Tube, and scheduling tools such as Hootsuite.
  • Proficiency in video/photography coordination, editing, and storytelling.
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, SEO best practices, and web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
  • Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar tools.
  • Project management, digital editorial calendars, and workflow tools.
  • Audience segmentation, paid social campaigns, and conversion‑driven content.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities.
  • Web authoring, UX design, and accessibility expertise.
  • Data interpretation from Analytics and social insights.
  • Interpersonal skills to train and guide contributors.
  • Independent and collaborative work style.
  • Knowledge of higher education structures and University of Chicago culture.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days on‑site at Hyde Park campus.
Benefits & Employment Details
  • Salary: $70,000 – $77,000.
  • Benefits eligible:
    Health, retirement, paid time off, and other University offerings.
