Business Analyst
The Business Analyst will play a key role in optimizing BI, Reporting, Data Analytics and Data Visualization for a new database that houses key client information. This person will work with key stakeholders and IT to develop reporting and analytic tools used to encourage compliance, increase standardization, and develop greater automation. Additionally, this person will play an important role in applying data solutions to enhance business processes by using data-driven analysis to inform decision-making.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with business users to facilitate requirements-gathering efforts, configuring systems to business specifications, and translating technical requirements for developers and external vendors.
- Recommends technical solutions based on business requirements
- Works with other departments and IT support on integrations and use of new data
- Works with IT to develop complex reporting solutions necessary for tracking and analysis of data and related KPIs and metrics.
- Administers and develop procedures for ongoing maintenance of data, including building forms and reports for review and completion by end users
- Document and develop data integrity protocols and help maintain data integrity in the systems by analyzing data and creating and running various audits
- Develops and performs testing procedures necessary for implementation of and upgrades to risk management applications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in an IT or Business field
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with requirements gathering, and translating business requirements into technical requirements
- Exceptional documentation skills when gathering requirements
- Experience identifying and optimizing workflows & protocols related to data integrity
- Experience with User Acceptance Testing
- Familiarity with popular BI, Reporting and Data Visualization Tools such as Cognos, SSRS, Business Objects or Tableau
- Familiarity with popular relational databases such as SQL
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience writing SQL queries is a plus
