The Senior Functional Tester plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through meticulous functional testing. This position emphasizes the importance of adhering to quality standards while testing software code, aligning with client requirements to deliver high-quality outcomes. The Senior Functional Tester collaborates closely with development teams and stakeholders, contributing significantly to the testing process and enhancing product functionality.
Key Responsibilities- Create and review test cases based on functional specifications and software requirement specifications, ensuring comprehensive coverage of requirements.
- Execute functional testing as per the established test plans and respective test cases, identifying any discrepancies and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Contribute to the development of test plans by providing insights based on assigned work and previous testing experiences, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Track test coverage, defect density, and other relevant quality metrics, and publish detailed progress reports to communicate findings and status updates.
- Coordinate with team members for discussions on testing strategies and interact with clients to provide updates and gather feedback on testing outcomes.
- Strong understanding of functional testing methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency in creating and executing test cases based on specifications.
- Familiarity with test management tools for tracking and reporting metrics.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with teams and interacting with clients.
- Basic knowledge of defect tracking processes and tools.
- Optional but valuable certifications: ISTQB Foundation Level, Certified Software Tester (CSTE).
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on your skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies.
