SAP ABAP​/BTP Developer

Whitehall Resources are seeking an experienced SAP Developer to join our SAP team in Chicago. This role will focus primarily on SAP ABAP Development, SAP BTP, and SAP CPI integrations, supporting ongoing SAP S/4

HANA initiatives and enterprise-wide digital transformation projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on SAP development experience and be comfortable working across custom development, integrations, and application support. Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 would be extremely desirable.

• Design, develop, enhance, and support custom SAP S/4
  
  HANA solutions.
• Build and maintain integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP BTP and SAP CPI.
• Develop and support APIs, web services, IDocs, RFCs, proxies, and integration frameworks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across SAP applications and interfaces.
• Design and develop ABAP objects including reports, enhancements, forms, interfaces, conversions, and workflows.
• Leverage SAP HANA technologies including CDS Views, AMDP, and code pushdown techniques to optimize performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and functional teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable technical solutions.
• Create and maintain technical specifications, design documents, and development standards.
• Support integrations with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Ariba, Success Factors, and other enterprise applications.
• Participate in testing, deployment, go-live support, and ongoing enhancement activities.
• Ensure solutions align with SAP best practices, performance standards, and enterprise architecture guidelines.

• 5+ years of SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong experience developing solutions within SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4
  
  HANA environments.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BTP and SAP CPI integration development.
• Experience working with: CDS Views, AMDP, OData Services, iDocs, RFCs, Web Services, Proxies
• Experience supporting complex SAP integration landscapes.
• Strong troubleshooting and performance optimization skills.
• Experience with multiple full lifecycle SAP implementations, upgrades, or transformation projects.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with Cloud Foundry and modern SAP development frameworks.
• SAP UI5 Certification.

Exposure to one or more of the following SAP modules:

• Finance & Controlling (FI/CO)
• Production Planning (PP)

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience working within complex enterprise SAP environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
