Responsibilities
- Hardware installation & configuration of enterprise servers and cabling infrastructure.
- Hardware break/fix replacement of FRUs.
- Rack installation including placing racks, cabling, powering up, and handing off servers to internal provisioning teams.
- Troubleshoot and resolve telco connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot and replace network switch equipment.
- Communicate within a ticketing environment supervised by multiple internal Oracle Cloud service owners and teams.
- Document activities and build/modify SOPs.
- Perform structured cabling, labeling, and troubleshoot fiber/copper/telecom cables.
- Install, remove, and repair system power supplies and cabling without disturbing other hardware.
- Maintain asset inventory and update internal applications.
- Participate in training to bridge skill gaps and learn new relevant technologies.
- Act within service level agreements (SLA) on assigned tickets.
- Knowledge of server, storage, and network hardware.
- Strong interest in learning new data center concepts.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience solving problems on servers, networking devices, and IT equipment.
- Inventory management experience (ordering, receiving, shipping server parts).
- Experience taking on‑call shifts and responding to critical events.
- Experience raising issues to senior onsite staff and management.
- Knowledge of IT hardware concepts (RAID, SAN, SCIS, Linux/Unix, GRUB).
- Knowledge of trunk infrastructure is a plus.
- Travel up to 25% outside of region and intra‑region as needed.
- Night shift – 4 days per week, 10‑hour shifts (may include weekends and holidays).
- Minimum 2 years working in an IT environment.
- 2-year or 4-year degree or 4+ years of experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in structured cabling (copper/fiber), cable testing, and data center cooling and electrical systems.
USD $27.64 – $56.83 per hour; $57,500 – $118,200 per year.
