Quality Assurance Lead

Job Title

Individuals in this role will be experienced in building test strategies, test plans, test scripts, test execution, and defect tracking and reporting for data warehousing and reporting capabilities. This role requires exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Attention to detail in overseeing the development, design and execution of the formal test plans for all system-related projects and initiatives at the company.

It will be a plus to have knowledge and experience in the healthcare insurance domain.

Qualified candidates will be responsible for the following:

• Define approach to validating system functionality and quality delivery of all assigned projects and technical initiatives
• Develop/review testing strategies and test plans, including functional testing, regression testing, negative testing, deployment testing, ETL job execution (Control-M) testing, and error handling testing.
• Reinforce team to follow QA Guidelines, QA methodology and Best Practices.
• Work with business to understand the requirement.
• Work with operations team to coordinate the build of the testing environment for the initiative.
• Track Defects and report on testing progress and results.
• Demonstrate advance SQL, UNIX, Control-M and ETL (Ab Initio) skills.
• Demonstrate understanding and experience testing ETL in a dimensionally modeled data warehouse
• Demonstrate understanding and experience testing ETL with complex transformation rules and very large data sets

Deliverables / Work Products:

• Test Strategy / Test Plan
  - Defines the plan for how the test effort will be conducted against the system
• Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) – mapping of requirements to test cases.
• Test Cases and Test Data
  - Specification (usually formal) of a set of test inputs, execution conditions, and expected results, identified for the purpose of making an evaluation of some particular aspect of a Target Test Item.
• Daily PV Test Execution Status Reports
  - Provides a mechanism for communicating expectations and understanding of current status, defects, and issues during PV test execution phase
• Build Assessment Recommendation – Provides a recommendation from the PV team on whether or not the current build should be deployed to the next environment, and includes supporting information
