* Job Description:

** The Sr. IT Systems Engineer designs, implements, and supports the company’s core infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft 365, Azure, identity, and endpoint management. This role ensures our systems are secure, scalable, reliable, and well-documented to support a growing, highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment.
** Essential Job Functions
*** Own and advance our identity platform, including Microsoft Entra , Azure AD Connect, and hybrid identity solutions.
* Design, implement, and manage modern endpoint management using Intune and Autopilot, including application deployment, configuration, automation, and patching.
* Configure and maintain enterprise applications using Entra , SAML SSO, and SCIM provisioning to deliver secure, frictionless access.
* Monitor, maintain, and optimize Windows servers, including routine security patching and performance tuning.
* Implement and continuously improve security best practices, conduct regular audits, and remediate vulnerabilities across systems and endpoints.
* Lead or contribute to complex technical projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on time and within scope.
* Identify operational issues, propose solutions, and drive implementation to improve reliability and user experience.
* Manage and resolve advanced incidents and requests, including ownership of high-complexity tickets and appropriate escalation to senior leadership when needed.
* Create and maintain clear documentation for system configurations, standards, and procedures, including content needed for risk assessments and validation activities.
* Research and recommend innovative, automated approaches to system administration and infrastructure management.
** Skills and Qualifications
*** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
* Minimum three years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
* Strong experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure services; relevant certifications are a plus.
* Deep understanding of identity and access management (Microsoft Entra , Azure AD Connect, SSO).
* Proven ability to manage Intune-based endpoint management and Autopilot provisioning.
* Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a track record of structured problem solving.
* Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating technical topics into actionable insights.
* Experience identifying, assessing, and managing risk across applications and systems in alignment with security and compliance standards.
* Scripting skills in Power Shell, Microsoft Graph, KQL, or similar languages.
* Experience using Copilot, Power Platform or other AI tools to automate or enhance IT workflows.
* Demonstrated curiosity and a mindset oriented towards innovation and continuous improvement.

** Working Conditions
*** Hybrid role based in the Chicago office; minimum of three days per week on site (subject to change at management’s discretion).
* May require occasional evening or weekend work and periodic overnight travel as business needs dictate.
* The anticipated base salary range for this position is $112,000 to $140,000.*#LI-HYBRID
