• Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient.
• Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers.
• Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization.
• Propose, drive and implement technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window, Linux or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases.
• Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.

40 hours / week, 8:00am-5:00pm, Salary Range $129,200 - $174,800

• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Systems Administrator, or a related occupation.
• Employer will accept three years of experience in the job offered or related as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
• Must have one year of experience in the following skills: supporting large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services; designing and implementing platforms to deliver provisioning using shell scripting; experience with programming languages including SQL, Power Shell, Perl, Bash, Python, PHP, or Ruby; supporting and maintaining database servers including MySQL, Oracle, or equivalent database; and troubleshooting systemic problems in a Windows, Linux, or Unix based environment.

The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $129,200 - $174,800 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign‑on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided by Illinois Equal Pay Act.
