Technical Lead – P&C Insurance Systems (MGA & Premium Accounting)

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Technical Lead – P&C Insurance Systems (MGA & Premium Accounting) with strong analytical skills to join our team. This individual will serve as the technical lead, working closely with business stakeholders to define requirements while collaborating with developers, business analysts, and the QA team to ensure high-quality solution delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership:
  Serve as the technical lead to design, develop, and implement solutions; act as the single point of contact for the existing application stack and production incident support.
• System Maintenance:
  Maintain and improve the functionality of existing software applications.
• Database Management:
  Manage and support SQL database environments across production, testing, and development.
• Risk & Strategy:
  Analyze complex technical information to determine risk, impact, and mitigation strategies.
• Migration Initiatives:
  Support transformation from legacy systems to modern platforms, ensuring data integrity and process continuity.
• Documentation:
  Create and maintain technical documentation to guide system users and support training efforts.
• Collaboration:
  
  Work with cross-functional teams, business leads, and product owners to define, design, and ship new features.
• Mentorship:
  Provide technical and functional guidance to developers and support teams; mentor team members.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Stay updated with industry trends and technology advancements; execute configuration changes as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Domain Expertise:
  • Strong knowledge of insurance operations, specifically MGA operations and premium accounting.
  • Experience with premium accounting workflows: invoicing, collections, bordereaux processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • P&C experience (ideally in Specialty Insurance).
  • Understanding of insurance data structures and financial reconciliation.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  • SQL: 8+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Data & Automation:
    Experience with ETL, SSIS packages, and workflow/automation creation.
  • Tools & Platforms:
    Proficiency in Documaker, Rackley, Infomaker, Power Builder, Retool, Go Anywhere, Redgate Tools, and Git.
  • Architecture:
    Solid understanding of web applications, cloud-managed services, SOA solutions, microservices, containers, API development, and managed databases.
• Process & Agile:
  • Experience in Agile environments (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Hands-on experience with Jira, Confluence, Service Now, and ITIL frameworks.
• Core Competencies:
  • Familiarity with various legacy and modern Policy Admin platforms.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud:
  Experience with Azure or GCP.
• Industry Software:
  Knowledge of Concept One, AIM, and Image Right is preferred.
