Senior Project Manager for Systematic Trading

The Senior Project Manager for Systematic Trading will be a central coordination point for onboarding, project delivery, issue resolution, and tooling adoption across BAM's Systematic business. The Senior Project Manager will report into the Head of Systematic PM Engagement and Data Science and interfaces daily with investment, quant, technology, data, and risk teams.

Responsibilities

Onboarding:
Own end-to-end onboarding for new systematic PMs, quant researchers, and analysts across equities, macro, quant, and dedicated quant platform strategies. Coordinate across Business Management, Data, Technology, and Risk to ensure day-one operational readiness. Maintain and improve onboarding playbooks, documentation, and access provisioning workflows.

Project Management:
Manage the full project lifecycle, including intake, scoping, delivery, and post-implementation review across technology, data, infrastructure, and operational work streams. Maintain a consolidated view of the Systematic project portfolio; track milestones, manage dependencies, and escalate risks. Partner on strategic build-out initiatives, including new strategy integration, asset class expansion, and ML-driven workflow development. Coordinate projects touching trading infrastructure, execution platforms, and multi-asset trade monitoring.

Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the operational interface between Systematic investment teams and Technology, Risk, Data, and Compliance. Run structured cross-functional meetings; drive agendas, capture decisions, and enforce accountability. Deliver concise project status updates and risk summaries to the Systematic COO and senior leadership. Ensure risk and operational considerations are embedded in project planning from the outset.

Tooling & Process:
Drive adoption and governance of Wiki, Asana, and Jira across the Systematic business. Define standards for project intake, tracking, escalation, and closure. Build reporting frameworks that provide real-time portfolio health visibility to leadership. Identify and implement process improvements that reduce friction for PMs and researchers.

Market Data & Technology:
Support onboarding of market data vendors and alternative data providers. Coordinate cloud and on-premises infrastructure requirements across equities, macro, and quant strategies. Translate business and research requirements into actionable technical specifications for engineering teams.

Requirements

10+ years of PMO / program management experience in a hedge fund, systematic asset manager, or quantitative trading firm; multi-strategy platform experience preferred. Familiarity with the systematic investment lifecycle, including signal research, portfolio construction, execution, and performance monitoring. Working knowledge of quant trading infrastructure, including research environments, backtesting platforms, data pipelines, execution systems, and risk frameworks. Understanding of market data and alternative data, including vendor management, licensing, feed onboarding, and data quality.

Familiarity with cloud analytics infrastructure (AWS) in a research or production trading context. Proficiency in Jira, Asana, Confluence/Wiki, and Salesforce. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex, multi-threaded situations for senior audiences. Strong stakeholder management across matrixed investment, technology, risk, and operations functions. Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent work streams across a large and growing PM/researcher population.

Proactive, self-directed, and comfortable with ambiguity. Willingness to travel internationally (3+ weeks per year) and work flexibly across New York, Chicago, and international time zones.
