Senior Data Engineer Azure Data Factory or Fabric; local to Chicago in Chicago

Overview

Chicago-based financial services firm is growing its Data team and is looking for a senior Data Engineer with experience building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Fabric. The role involves contributing to building a new global enterprise data warehouse.

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines; consolidate data from diverse sources and ensure data quality.
• Work with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related technologies to deliver robust data integration solutions.
• Develop data transformation processes for cleansing, normalizing, and enriching data.
• Optimize data pipeline performance and troubleshoot data quality issues.
• Collaborate with operations and IT teams to build the necessary data infrastructure.
• Communicate effectively with end users and cross-functional teams.

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, building pipelines, consolidating data from diverse sources, and ensuring data quality.
• At least 1 year with Azure Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks; strong SQL skills.
• Ability to design data transformations for cleansing, normalization, and enrichment of data.
• Ability to optimize data pipeline performance and resolve data quality issues.
• Experience collaborating with operations and IT teams to build required infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with a cross-section of end users.

• Microsoft Certified:
  Azure Data Engineer
• DBT, Python, Java, or Scala
• ML experience or exposure
