Sr. Project Manager

Job Overview

Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Must be local to Chicago and will sit downtown Chicago.

Pay range: $70.00 - $75.00/hr.

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans using a waterfall methodology.
• Define scope, timeline, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Establish milestones, critical paths, and dependencies.
• Drive adherence to formal stage‑gate governance processes.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and act as primary point of contact between business and technology teams.
• Provide regular status reporting, risk updates, and executive‑level communications.
• Facilitate steering committee meetings and decision forums.
• Ensure clear, detailed business requirements and functional specifications.
• Partner with Business Analysts to validate traceability from requirements to delivery.
• Maintain project documentation including charters, plans, RAID logs, and status reports.
• Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks and issues.
• Drive change control processes with proper documentation and approvals.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory, audit, and compliance standards.

• Banking or financial services experience.
• Waterfall/Agile experience.
• Scrum Master experience a nice to have.
• Experience managing multiple projects at once (2‑3).
• Expert level professional.
