The ESA E-Technology (eTech) group supports multiple admissions systems at the University of Chicago, providing technical operations, implementation, business analysis, documentation, inventory, and troubleshooting for users in the Office of Enrollment and Student Advancement.
OverviewWe are looking for an Admissions Systems Technology Specialist to support graduate and undergraduate admissions systems, learn to work with Technolutions Slate, and handle equipment and ticketing support.
Responsibilities- Exhibit a high level of accuracy and comfort with using CRM (constituent relationship management) systems and database fundamentals.
- Act as primary contact for system functionality and support to internal users and external applicants, performing troubleshooting, statistical analysis, reporting, maintenance, and research.
- Manage system data, including duplicate record mitigation, building and exporting queries, maintaining system integrity, creating reports, and implementing new functionality.
- Create and maintain events, forms, mass email messages, and campaigns using system tools and HTML, CSS, Liquid Markup coding.
- Participate in system functionality implementation discussions, testing, documentation, and quality assurance.
- Direct end‑user training on system functionality.
- Provide occasional support for other technology such as PCs, Macs, monitors, printers, scanners, software, and networking questions.
- Analyze users’ requirements and solve routine database problems to ensure data accessibility.
- Interpret existing data and populate the database with new data from external sources.
- Maintain documentation on data models, data dictionaries, physical database configuration, and daily maintenance functions.
- Perform other related work as needed.
- Education: College or university degree in a related field.
- Work Experience: Less than 2 years in a related discipline.

Skills:
Understanding of CRM systems, data, databases, and good data practices; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access; familiarity with HTML and CSS. - Preferred Technical Skill: Proficiency with Technolutions Slate admissions system.
- Competencies: Good communication skills; high accuracy; able to create and update technical documentation.
