If Selected For This Position, You Will Join a Well-respected Team That Is Responsible For Information Technology Support For The Northern District Of Illinois. Typical Work Assignments Will Include:
- Maintaining network, architecture and infrastructure;
- Configuring and maintaining servers, hubs, routers, and switches;
- Resolves hardware/software interface and interoperability problems;
- Optimizes system performance and identifies components to improve overall systems performance;
- Manages accounts, network rights and access to systems and equipment;
- Monitors functionality, security and integrity of internet services. Manages internet servers;
- Installs, configures, troubleshoots and maintains customer hardware and software.
- Provides customer training
- Provides technical support and operational oversight for in-house and C# desktop applications and SQL Server databases, performing required code updates, small-large scale enhancements, troubleshooting, and documentation to ensure secure, reliable, and compliant system performance.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSUnder the updated Competency-Based Qualification Standard for the IT Management Series (2210), applicants must:
- Meet or exceed all required competencies at the minimum proficiency level for the GS-09 and/or GS-11 grade(s), as described below; AND
- Have the required specialized experience for the GS-09 and/or GS-11 grade(s), as described below.
You may be considered ineligible and removed from further consideration for the position, if you fail to meet any of the criteria above.
GS-11To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience at the GS-09 level and meet or exceed all the required competencies.
Specialized ExperienceSpecialized Experience is defined as providing IT customer support services-installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and networked systems; delivering user training and assistance across a variety of applications; administering and supporting enterprise network infrastructure (e.g., switches, routers, wireless access points, and VPNs); monitoring performance and availability; implementing security controls; documenting procedures; and resolving incidents through ticketing systems, escalation, and root-cause analysis.
