About us:We are hiring a Postdoctoral Fellow to help answer some of the field's toughest questions: how does the brain's vasculature shape cognitive aging? How can we harness our knowledge of cerebrovascular aging to prevent cognitive decline before it starts?
At the heart of the Simpson Querrey Brain Health Institute is a bold bet: that the brain's vascular health holds the key to preventing cognitive decline. We're building a first-of-its-kind research and clinical program rooted in neurovascular science, probing how blood flow, vessel integrity, and cerebrovascular disease shape the trajectory of cognitive aging and neurodegeneration. As a postdoctoral fellow, you'll be at the center of that work, applying cutting-edge computational tools to questions that move from bench to bedside.
Qualifications:We're especially interested in candidates with strong backgrounds in one or more of the following: machine learning, statistics, neuroimaging, or bioinformatics. Candidates with deep strength in a single area, or any combination, are encouraged to apply and bring computational rigor to some of the biggest open questions in cerebrovascular disease, cognitive aging, and neurodegeneration.
What we're looking for:- PhD in Computer Science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Strength in one or more of: AI/machine learning, advanced statistical methods, bioinformatics, or combinations are welcome
- Strong programming skills (Python, R, or similar)
- A collaborative mindset and interest in working and learning across disciplines - from bench science to clinical translation
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications
- Apply your expertise to multimodal neuroimaging, multi-omic, and clinical datasets spanning human and animal studies
- Contribute to the development and analysis of large-scale, longitudinal cohort data (including cerebrovascular and cognitive aging studies)
- Collaborate closely with physician-scientists, data engineers, and computational biologists across the Institute, complementing your skill set with theirs
- Publish original research in high-impact journals and present findings at national and international conferences
- Help shape emerging methods for integrating multimodal data in service of precision brain health
