Digital Performance Analyst

Full-time

Location:

Chicago, IL

Team:
Performance Analytics

Reports To:

VP of Performance Analytics

About Gainshare

Gain Share is a performance marketing agency built on a simple promise: performance you can predict.

Backed by 35 years of performance-first experience and more than $100M in media managed, we help brands forecast revenue before they invest — then plan, buy, and optimize across media, TV, and creative to deliver it. The industry optimizes backward. We optimize forward.

The Role

The Digital Performance Analyst is a hands‑on, early‑career role on our Performance Analytics team, centered on digital media — programmatic, paid search, paid social, streaming video/OLV/CTV. You’ll own the digital performance analysis for your accounts and expand into broader, cross‑channel measurement as you develop.

Day to day, you’ll work alongside the VP of Performance Analytics on our flagship account: you drive the digital analysis while the wider cross‑channel and forecasting picture comes together around it. That means generating insights, building performance reporting, running tests across Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads, DV360, and other DSPs, and keeping tracking and data integrity clean so the numbers feeding GPS hold up.

You’ll work across a range of client types — insurance, e‑commerce, OEM lead‑gen, university recruitment, and financial services — and the full set of systems behind them:
Google Analytics, website engagement and conversion tracking, multi‑million‑dollar ad budgets, call‑tracking software, CRM systems, and our predictive intelligence platform. You’ll start on the digital side and grow into connecting it all for a full‑funnel view of performance.

What You’ll Do
  • Own the digital performance analysis and reporting for your accounts, contributing to the broader cross‑channel view.
  • Build and QA dashboards for digital KPIs (CPA, ROAS, CTR, CVR, assisted conversions) and lead‑gen metrics like leads, calls, and enrollments.
  • Design and interpret audience, creative, landing‑page, and conversion tests.
  • Explore and QA data using SQL and AI‑assisted tools, flagging data‑quality issues to analytics engineering and helping validate tracking with the media and web teams.
  • Help turn data into clear stories and recommendations for client and internal reporting.
  • Support attribution and incrementality work, growing into TV, call, and MMM measurement over time.
What We’re Looking For

Strong fundamentals and genuine curiosity matter more to us than a long résumé — this is a place to build depth quickly. The list below is a starting point, not a checklist.

Must‑Have
  • 1–3 years experience working with in digital marketing analytics, business analytics, including internship experience.
  • An undergraduate degree in marketing, business analytics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Hands‑on exposure to Google Ads, Meta Ads, DV360, and/or other DSP platforms.
  • Familiarity with web analytics (GA4, Adobe Analytics) and tag/pixel tracking (Google Tag Manager, Floodlight, Meta Pixel).
  • Comfortable exploring and validating data with SQL and AI‑assisted tools.
  • Some experience building dashboards in a modern BI platform (Tableau, Looker, or Power BI).
  • Clear communication skills, with comfort presenting findings to teammates and clients.
Nice‑to‑Have (and the growth path for this role)
  • Interest in predictive, forward‑looking measurement — marketing‑mix modeling, incrementality, and forecasting — the core of our GPS platform.
  • Interest in cross‑channel and offline measurement — linear/connected TV (e.g., iSpot, Samba TV, InnovidXP) and call tracking.
  • Experience with A/B or landing‑page testing and conversion‑funnel analysis.
  • Comfort using AI/agentic tools to speed up analysis, with basic version‑control (Git) habits.
  • Understanding of privacy‑safe tracking (modeled conversions, first‑party cookies).
  • Internship or agency exposure in a fast‑paced client environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary range:
Competitive with marketplace rates, based on experience.
  • Hybrid in‑office schedule based out of our Chicago office.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k)).
  • Immediate involvement in active client optimization projects.
