Sr DevOps Engineer

Our client in Chicago, IL is looking for a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to join their team for a long term position.

• Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
• Partners with architects and application development teams to evaluate new cloud services, features, & enhancements
• Determines secure patterns & configurations for cloud services
• Writes code, scripts, and templates to automate the provisioning and de-provisioning of cloud services using tools like Terraform and cloud provider APIs
• Ensures the security of cloud infrastructure
• Uses Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to ensure the availability and resilience of public cloud hosted applications
• Provides technical consulting and expertise to application teams using public cloud services
• Manages public cloud environments
• Enhances automation and Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Manages cloud development tools including CI/CD orchestration platforms, source code repositories, artifact repositories, code quality tools, etc.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Working knowledge of core Google Cloud Platform services In depth understanding of Kubernetes

Understanding of and experience creating CI/CD pipelines

Strong understanding of TDD and automated unit, integration & acceptance testing

Experience in researching and prototyping new capabilities

Experience using and administering Linux and Windows Server operating systems

Experience with development tools such as Nexus, Artifactory, Sonar Qube, Git, SVN, Jira, etc
