Our client is a leading technology-driven proprietary trading firm that relies on highly resilient infrastructure to support real-time trading across global financial markets. They are looking to add a Technology Operations Engineer to their operations team, providing an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where technology plays a critical role in business performance.

The Role
As a Technology Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and availability of the firm's trading infrastructure while supporting day-to-day trading operations. You'll monitor production systems, investigate technical issues, and work closely with engineering, trading, and risk teams to ensure the platform operates efficiently.
Alongside operational responsibilities, you'll help develop tools and automation that improve deployment processes, reduce manual intervention, and enhance overall system reliability.
Please note that this role requires participation in a rotating shift pattern covering both US and Asia trading hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitoring production trading systems and responding to operational issues in real time
- Investigating, diagnosing, and resolving complex infrastructure and application problems
- Supporting trading and risk teams to ensure trading systems operate effectively
- Managing production changes and communicating system status across the business
- Automating software deployments across Linux and Windows environments
- Developing internal tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of monitoring, deployment, and operational workflows
About You
We're looking for someone with a strong technical foundation, a proactive mindset, and a genuine interest in supporting highly available production environments.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
- 1-3 years of experience supporting or administering Linux-based production environments
- Strong knowledge of both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience writing scripts, ideally using Python, to automate operational tasks
- Familiarity with distributed version control systems such as Git
- Experience with configuration management tools including Salt, Puppet, or Chef
- Exposure to infrastructure and application monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, or Nagios
- Experience working with ticketing and workflow management systems such as Jira
- Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting tools for production environments
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive attitude, strong sense of ownership, and commitment to continuous improvement
The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Experience supporting low-latency or high-availability production environments
- Exposure to financial services, electronic trading, or other mission-critical systems
- Experience building operational tooling and deployment automation
- Familiarity with incident management and production support best practices
