What Will You Do?

The Overview

We are seeking a data scientist with a passion for data-driven medicine using state-of-the-art methods of data science. The successful candidate will apply their skills to develop data-driven tools, such as intuitive analytics, prediction scores, and dashboards to support clinical decision-making and patient monitoring. The role involves substantial interaction with clinicians to identify needs and develop solutions that meaningfully improve clinical outcomes.

The Specifics

  • Use methods of machine learning to summarize patient data into meaningful scores
  • Develop dashboards to visualize analytics and predictions in support of clinical decision-making
  • Engage directly with clinicians users to gather requirements and iteratively refine analytics tools
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering and product management to launch products
  • Clearly communicate insights, methodologies, and product value to stakeholders and end-users

Minimum Qualifications

Experience

  • PhD or MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Epidemiology, or other quantitative fields
  • 2+ years of industry experience in data science

Data Science

  • Strong skills in state-of-the-art statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Strong skills in summarizing data into intuitive tables and visualizations

Science

  • Understands the scientific method, study design and hypothesis-driven experimentation
  • Passion for transparent, rigorous and reproducible data science

Software Engineering

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL (additional proficiency in R preferred)
  • Dedication to engineering best practice (e.g., version control, documentation, etc.)

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with varied stakeholders
  • Independent, proactive, and adept at managing multiple projects
  • Humility, kindness, urgency, and a hunger to continuously learn and grow

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience developing and launching data-driven products end-to-end
  • Experience with LLMs and Agentic AI in the context of product development
  • Background working with wearable devices, biosensing data, or other physiological data types
  • Experience working with electronic health records or other healthcare data
  • Cloud storage and virtual machine experience (preferably Google Cloud Platform)
