Head Of Analytics
The Trajektory team is looking for an ambitious, creative, resourceful, and results-driven Head of Analytics to lead our growing data operations team in Chicago. As a member of the leadership team, you will be self-sufficient in running a cross-functional department that delivers on Business Intelligence (BI) and Professional Services commitments. You will coordinate with BI Analysts to deliver industry-leading data validation, continuously update Trajektory's proprietary valuation models, support client reporting/recaps, and partner with Product & Engineering to drive platform features and automation.
Key Responsibilities- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the core bridge connecting Business Intelligence, Professional Services, Sales, and Customer Success to translate raw technical data into executive-ready narratives. - Capacity Planning:
Implement data-driven capacity planning to optimize the distribution of project tasks and ensure on-time delivery of client data and reports. - Evolve Methodology:
Support the scaling of Trajektory's core sponsorship valuation methodology across multiple channels (Broadcast, Social, Digital, and In-Venue). - Data Storytelling & Thought Leadership:
Drive strong data analysis and compelling storytelling across the organization, leveraging our data to create analysis, studies, and white papers that solidify Trajektory's position as an industry leader. - Analytical Excellence:
Act as the organization's expert in data and analytics, ensuring the team maintains the highest level of rigor and insight when translating complex data into business value. - Project Scoping & Delivery:
Collaborate directly with the Commercial team (Sales, Customer Success) to scope, price, and deliver ad-hoc consulting projects (e.g., custom league rate cards, naming rights, and economic impact analyses). - Efficiency & Templatization:
Develop standardized playbooks and templates for custom deliverables to reduce manual labor, optimize margins, and speed up delivery times. - CFO-Ready Client Insights:
Support Customer Success with "CFO-ready" benchmarking, white-space analysis, and executive summaries to maximize client renewals and expansions. - Sales & Marketing Content:
Equip Sales and Marketing with compelling data-driven talking points, industry reports, and case studies to accelerate brand and agency sales pipeline velocity.
- A Good Human:
Embody our company values of transparency, collaboration, and high-integrity work. - Experience: 6+ years of leadership experience in Business Intelligence, Consulting, or Sports/Sponsorship Analytics. Experience in a B2B SaaS startup environment is highly preferred.
- Sponsorship Industry Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the sports sponsorship ecosystem, including broadcast media buying, social tracking, in-venue placement, and demographic analysis. - Technical Analytics Toolkit:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to structure and manipulate massive data sets.
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Google Big Query, Snowflake).
- Experience with statistical environments (e.g., R, SPSS, SAS) is highly preferred.
- Experience utilizing business intelligence visualization tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau) to build client dashboards.
- CRM & Project Management:
Experience leveraging Salesforce or Hub Spot for data reporting, and tools like Asana for operational project management is a plus. - Prioritization Specialist:
Ability to effectively manage and organize the priority order of tasks and projects across the team, accounting for the short- and long-term commercial impacts. - Problem-Solver:
Immense curiosity and a drive to get to the "WHY" behind data trends. - Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex statistical models to non-technical client stakeholders. - GSD Leader:
Read as "Get Shit Done" and move with purpose. - Bonus Points: A nerdy sense of humor and/or a collection of sports data dad jokes!
