Senior Analytics Data Engineer

Senior Analytics Data Engineer role focused on building and supporting automated data delivery solutions for operational reporting and dashboards.

• Apply modern data architecture fundamentals including data warehouses
  , data marts
  , data lakes
  , lake houses
  , and related data delivery patterns
• Design efficient, scalable data models and data delivery solutions for complex projects, with guidance from architecture and leadership teams as needed
• Evaluate and recommend practical data delivery technologies and approaches that improve maintainability
  , performance
  , and usability
• Execute end-to-end development for automated data delivery processes supporting reporting and dashboards using ETL/ELT tools such as dbt and Azure Data Factory (or related technologies)
• Use advanced SQL to write, debug, optimize, and maintain queries and data pipelines
• Support migration of existing SAS solutions to technologies used at GEICO such as dbt and Power BI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement data models and architectures for client projects and initiatives
• Automate and perform daily maintenance processes for critical data workflows
• Assist with data and database migrations
  , including testing and validation
• Contribute to team development standards and best practices, including documentation
  , modularization
  , testing
  , and code review expectations
• Support continuous refinement of capabilities and processes
• Assist with project and time management activities such as estimates
  , status reporting
  , and stakeholder coordination
• Perform root cause analysis and performance tuning for data pipelines, queries, and reporting datasets
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members as needed

• Proficiency developing data pipelines using dbt
  , Git Hub and Airflow (or similar technologies)
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to learn and apply large amounts of technical and procedural information
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• 5+ years of relevant work experience required
• Property & Casualty (P&C) claims data/analytics experience or any P&C insurance industry experience

• Annual salary range: USD 73,800
  - 141,450 per yearly
