About the ClientProprietary trading firm running ultra‑low‑latency systems across global markets. Infrastructure is built for speed, resilience, and scale, with tight collaboration between infrastructure, network, and dev teams.
Role OverviewHands‑on Net App ONTAP engineer to own the storage layer for trading, market data, research, and core platforms. You’ll operate, and optimise FAS/AFF/C‑Series in primary and DR sites, ensuring sub‑millisecond latency
, high IOPS
, and zero‑downtime for trading‑critical workloads.
- Architect and implement Net App SAN/NAS (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB) for trading engines, market data, research clusters, and core services.
- Provision and manage volumes, LUNs, SVMs, aggregates
, and related objects across production and DR. - Tune storage for latency‑sensitive workloads
: queue depths, multipathing, NFS/SMB options, FC/iSCSI zoning, host‑side tuning. - Implement Snap Mirror, Snap Vault, Snap Lock, snapshots, clones
, and replication to meet RPO/RTO targets; own backup integration and DR testing. - Automate provisioning, reporting, and ops tasks using Power Shell, Python, Ansible
, or Net App APIs. - Monitor performance/capacity via OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, Insight
, and custom dashboards; proactively resolve bottlenecks. - Work with network, systems, SRE, and trading tech on end‑to‑end design, incidents, and change management in a 24/5 environment.
- 5+ years enterprise storage engineering, 3+ years on Net App ONTAP Cluster‑Mode (9.x).
- Deep hands‑on with FAS/AFF/C‑Series
, SAN/NAS (FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB),
Snap Mirror/Snap Vault/snapshots/clones
, dedupe/compression, Flex Vol/Flex Group. - Strong SAN fabric knowledge (Brocade/Cisco MDS, zoning, VSANs, multipathing).
- Solid Linux/Windows storage admin and performance tuning.
- Scripting/automation with Power Shell, Python, or Ansible
. - Comfortable in a 24/5 trading environment with on‑call/rotation.
