We are looking for a senior hands-on virtualization architect/SME who has actually migrated VMware workloads to Red Hat Open Shift Virtualization in production
. This is not a general VMware, Kubernetes, or Open Shift administrator role.
- VMware → Red Hat Open Shift Virtualization migrations — direct hands-on migration experience is the #1 requirement.
- MTV / Forklift — Migration Toolkit for Virtualization experience.
- Kube Virt administration and troubleshooting.
- Advanced Migration Management (ACM) experience.
- Experience with multi-site / multi-cluster migration programs
. - Experience executing production cutovers
, validation, rollback planning, and post-migration support. - Operational readiness — preparing engineering/operations teams to support the migrated environment.
- Strong knowledge transfer/documentation experience, including MOPs, migration procedures, diagrams, runbooks, and training.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with:
Virtualization: VMware vSphere/ESXi, Open Shift Virtualization, KVM, QEMU, Kube Virt
Open Shift: OCP, Open Shift Virtualization, Open Shift Platform Plus, ACM, Multus CNI, OVN, vSwitch/networking
Storage: Ceph, LVM, persistent storage
Linux: RHEL, Linux administration and troubleshooting
Networking: Open Shift networking, DNS, PKI, Multus, OVN
