Our client is seeking a System Administrator to support and maintain their high-performance trading and analytics platform. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of their infrastructure while working closely with engineering, operations, and support teams.

Key Responsibilities

• System Maintenance & Support: Manage and monitor Linux-based servers, ensuring uptime and performance
• Automation & Scripting: Leverage tools like Bash, Python, and Ansible to automate system processes.
• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Cloud & On-Premise Management: Support cloud-based and co-located infrastructure
• Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve system issues to minimize downtime
• Collaboration: Work closely with Dev Ops, engineering, and trading teams to optimize system performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in system administration, preferably in a trading or financial services environment
• Strong knowledge of Linux and automation tools
• Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies
• Scripting proficiency in Bash, Python, or Power Shell
• Networking and security fundamentals, including firewalls and VPNs
• Familiarity with monitoring tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• This is an onsite position working at the client’s Chicago office.
