Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The IT Asset Management Analyst in the Health Information Systems (HIS) department manages hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with vendor contracts and optimizing procurement strategies. This role oversees IT procurement, inventory management, and serves as the primary administrator for the HIS Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This is a fast paced, multi-priority environment and team members will face new challenges on a daily basis.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES

  • Manage the full IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of hardware and software assets.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, and maintenance contracts.
  • Administer and maintain the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring data accuracy and compliance with IT Service Management (ITSM) standards.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve asset management processes and procedures, including asset tagging, inventory tracking, compliance audits, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to IT assets, identifying and mitigating risks associated with asset management.
  • Produce and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to asset management, utilizing data analytics to generate insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, IT operations, and security teams to align asset management strategies with organizational goals.
  • Oversee physical inventories, including receiving, storing, and restocking IT assets, as well as managing asset replenishment and forecasting needs.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, including contract negotiations and ensuring vendor performance aligns with organizational needs.
  • Prepare and submit reports on asset status, including current inventory, upcoming end-of-life equipment, license positions, and compliance metrics.
  • Implement and promote sustainable asset management practices, including environmentally responsible procurement, recycling, and disposal of IT assets.
  • Support software asset management (SAM) processes, including license management, compliance tracking, and software asset optimization.
  • Respond to asset management information requests from stakeholders and support special projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the HIS department and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least three (3) years of experience in IT Asset Management, including managing hardware and software assets.
  • Proficiency in using IT asset management tools (e.g., Service Now, Fresh Service, or similar platforms).
  • Basic understanding of hardware and software lifecycle management.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in IT Asset Management within a large organization or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Experience with Configuration Management Database (CMDB) administration and ITIL framework preferred.
  • Experience with advanced asset management tools and reporting systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with software deployment tools and scripts (e.g., SCCM, Power Shell) preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) certification, such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) certification preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration with a focus on IT preferred.
