Cyber Recovery Engineer – Financial Services

We’re looking for a Cyber Recovery Engineer to join a regulated financial services environment and help support the design, operation, and testing of a growing cyber recovery and resilience program
.
This is a hands‑on opportunity for an infrastructure, IT operations, or security‑focused engineer who has experience with disaster recovery, backups, or enterprise infrastructure and wants to grow deeper into cyber resilience and recovery engineering.
What You’ll Do
- Support Isolated Recovery Environment (IRE) and clean room operations
- Execute recovery runbooks during DR tests, tabletop exercises, and recovery simulations
- Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise backup and replication platforms
- Support backup policies, retention, replication, and restore testing
- Document recovery procedures, test results, deviations, and remediation activities
- Assist with regulatory documentation, audit evidence, and control narratives
- Support recovery automation using Python, Bash, or Power Shell
- Work with Terraform, Ansible, or other IaC tools
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and database teams on recovery dependencies
- Participate in after‑action reviews and help drive recovery findings to closure
What We’re Looking For
- 7–10 years of infrastructure engineering, IT operations, or security‑adjacent experience
- Experience with in a financial institution or highly regulated environment
- Hands‑on exposure to disaster recovery, backups, or restore operations
- Experience with at least one enterprise platform such as:
- Cohesity, Rubrik, Veeam, Zerto, Commvault, or Net Backup
- Basic scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Power Shell
- Understanding of VLANs, firewalls, DNS, routing, and network isolation
- Strong technical documentation and procedure‑writing skills
- Familiarity with FFIEC, NIST CSF, NYDFS
, or similar regulatory frameworks
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting an IRE or clean room recovery exercise
- Regulatory audit/examination or technology controls experience
- Terraform or Ansible
- Service Now / ITSM and change‑management experience
- Ransomware response or cyber incident response tabletop experience
- Security+, CySA+, AWS/Azure fundamentals, or backup‑platform certifications
