Job overviewIn this role, you’ll lead end-to-end technical sourcing for emerging technologies—setting the strategy, selecting the right suppliers, and negotiating agreements that enable cross-functional programs. You’ll bring a strong point of view on the market, balance cost, risk, and compliance requirements, and influence decisions that support long-term business outcomes.
What you’ll do- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for emerging technologies (cloud, AI/ML, Internet of Things, and automation) that align to business and technical roadmaps.
- Lead supplier selection activities, including market research, competitive comparisons, and stakeholder alignment to support technology adoption.
- Negotiate contracts and manage supplier agreements to deliver favorable commercial terms, clear deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
- Own ongoing supplier management—performance reviews, issue resolution, and adherence to security controls and contractual obligations.
- Partner with business unit and cross-functional teams to provide cost analysis, risk assessments, and recommendations that inform executive decisions.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and proactively manage sourcing risks to support compliance and continuity.
- Technical sourcing and procurement expertise for emerging technology categories (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, Internet of Things, and automation).
- Contract negotiation and supplier agreement management (including commercial terms, service levels, and deliverables).
- Supplier performance management, including governance rhythms, scorecards/metrics, and remediation planning.
- Cost analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling to support sourcing recommendations.
- Risk management across technology sourcing (e.g., third‑party risk considerations, compliance alignment, and continuity planning).
- Working knowledge of security controls and how they are incorporated into supplier onboarding and contractual obligations.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired.
- Certification is required in some areas.
- Experience leading significant sourcing initiatives with strategic autonomy and measurable business impact.
- Experience influencing executive decisions through data‑driven recommendations and cross‑functional alignment.
- Experience mentoring or guiding less experienced staff through complex sourcing work.
Our Lead Technical Sourcing Management earns between$130,700 - $196,100 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
