Location: Chicago, IL | Tempe, AZ | New Jersey Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite
Our direct client is looking for a Senior Backup Engineer to design, engineer, automate, and continuously improve enterprise backup, recovery, and cyber resiliency solutions across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments
.
- Design and engineer enterprise backup & recovery platforms
- Develop backup infrastructure using Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
- Automate deployments and operations using Python, Power Shell, Bash, and REST APIs
- Support backup and recovery across AWS, Azure, VMware, Kubernetes/Open Shift, and on-prem
- Lead recovery validation, restore testing, and cyber recovery exercises
- Develop reusable engineering patterns and integrate automation with Git Hub/CI/CD
- Partner with Cyber Security and infrastructure teams on ransomware recovery and resiliency
- 8+ years of enterprise backup engineering experience
- Strong experience with one or more:
Cohesity, Dell Power Protect, Rubrik, Veeam, Commvault, or Net Backup - Strong Terraform and automation experience
- Advanced Python, Power Shell, or Bash scripting
- Experience with AWS/Azure and hybrid infrastructure
- Strong understanding of RTO/RPO, recovery testing, and cyber resiliency
- Experience in large-scale or highly regulated enterprise environments
