Principal

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for investigating and negotiating 1st‑party property claims to resolution.
  • Retain and monitor outside adjustors and attorneys as needed, including possible litigation.
  • Answer and return phone calls from attorneys, claimants, and other contacts.
  • Develop and manage litigation plan with outside contacts.
  • Obtain information regarding each claim and evaluate coverage, liability, and damages.
  • Complete and settle property claims with insureds in accordance with recommended best‑practice guidelines and limits of authority.
  • Assist in other duties as needed.
Education & Experience
  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of related experience OR equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Field experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to use analytical methods in the claim examining processes to find workable solutions.
  • Ability to generate innovative solutions within the claims department.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal contacts on claim matters.
  • Ability to use software to summarize and analyze large amounts of data.
  • Ability to use analytical methods in the claim examining processes to create solutions or resolve claims.
  • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal contacts on claim matters in addition to developing litigation plans with outside contacts.
Compensation Overview

Base salary range: $83,087.00 – $ per year. The salary offered will take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications/credentials, talent availability & specialization, as well as business needs. The below range may be modified in the future.
