About the role: Vantage Claims Specialists provide complete claim management and loss mitigation services for policyholders on a dedicated account basis. This role independently investigates, evaluates, and manages the disposition of Contractors Professional and Pollution;
Architect & Engineer; and Owner Claims of varying complexity across multiple product types and markets. The role supports the Underwriting Business Unit by liaising with account and broker/agent representatives, providing exposure analysis to senior leadership, and participating in marketing efforts at industry events and conferences. The mission of the Vantage Claims team is to add creativity to tech-enabled efficiency and robust analytics to address risks others avoid.
This role reports to the Head of Contractors Professional and Pollution Claims and is a remote opportunity for the appropriate candidate.
The base salary range is $125,000 to $175,000. The actual base salary and title may be higher, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities & Accountabilities- Evaluates, reserves, and claims to resolution, including oversight of all phases of litigation related to primary and excess policies issued to Contractors, Architect, Engineers, and Owners.
- Reviews coverage, drafts letters, and communicates coverage positions to insureds, brokers, and agents as necessary.
- Communicates regularly with insureds and internal and external stakeholders regarding individual claim development and strategy.
- Provides superior customer service and builds strong relationships with assigned accounts, including internal leadership, brokers, and agents to maximize the value of the Vantage Claims proposition.
- Implements Vantage Claims Best Practices for proper and consistent claim handling, compliance, and achievement of business goals; drives efficient and proactive litigation defense strategies by managing retained counsel.
- Documents claim files thoroughly with relevant factual and evaluative information in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrates subject matter knowledge and negotiation skills to achieve outcomes through direct negotiation and, when necessary, alternative dispute resolution.
- Drives claim development and seeks creative ways to achieve optimal results on every file.
- Implements Vantage reserving and reporting protocols to avoid unexpected developments and outcomes.
- Identifies issues and trends within Construction Professional and Pollution liability markets and communicates them to insureds, Vantage Claims leadership, Underwriting partners, and actuaries.
- Follows escalation and reporting protocols for cases with significant potential exposure.
- Attends marketing, account renewal, and reinsurance meetings to communicate the Vantage claims handling philosophy and value proposition.
- Maintains respectful, positive, and collaborative interactions with all stakeholders and business partners.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; J.D. preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience handling and managing Contractors Professional and Pollution liability claims or related litigation experience.
