World Insurance Associates

World Insurance Associates is strengthening its National Accounts casualty capabilities and is seeking a seasoned expert in Primary & Excess Casualty broking to join our Chicago team. This hybrid position requires three days per week in the office (Accenture Tower).

At WIA, we focus on delivering strategic risk solutions and exceptional service through collaboration, specialized expertise, and a national network of resources.

Role Overview

In this leadership role, you will serve as a primary point of expertise for complex casualty placements, advising large clients on risk financing strategies and navigating the insurance marketplace on their behalf. You will apply analytical and market knowledge to structure, market, and place primary and excess casualty programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the brokerage of Workers’ Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, and Umbrella/ Excess programs for the National Account Team clients.
  • Evaluate existing risk transfer strategies, including coverage details, pricing elements, and overall cost of risk, and providing clear program comparisons.
  • Design and model alternative program structures based on client needs, loss profiles and market opportunities.
  • Develop complete marketing submissions, coordinate carrier meetings, and manage negotiations in partnership with internal account teams. Some travel will be required.
  • Review carrier proposals, assess program changes (exposures, loss trends, collateral, terms, pricing), and prepare final program recommendations for client presentations.
  • Oversee the placement process from start to finish, including policy accuracy, servicing, and ongoing renewal management.
  • Analyze new and renewal casualty programs to determine the optimal structure and pricing.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with National Casualty underwriters and carrier partners.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical mentorship to junior brokers and team members.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across our “World” network to deliver integrated client solutions.
Why This Role Stands Out:

World Insurance Associates offers a rapidly growing platform with access to strong market relationships, analytical resources, and subject matter specialists across the country. You’ll work within a collaborative environment where innovative thinking and client-first solutions are highly valued.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience in casualty insurance broking with a focus on primary placements and national account exposures.
  • Understanding of National Casualty risk trends and carrier market preferences.
  • Established professional relationships with casualty carriers and underwriters.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision‑making abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and strong presentation skills.
